Brugal 1888’s art of travel, captured in one image

Client : Ceetadel / Brugal

Mission

For its year-end press release, Brugal unveiled a limited edition of its iconic Brugal 1888, featuring a handcrafted leather tag holder, conceived as a tribute to the travel trunks once used by the Maestros Roneros. Monet RP, the brand’s PR agency, commissioned us to create a hero image that would showcase this exclusive accessory — limited to just 150 pieces — while expressing Brugal’s visual identity : deep blues, golden reflections, warm amber, and the elegance of Dominican craftsmanship passed down through five generations.

Our role: tell the story of 1888’s heritage, travel, and craftsmanship in a single image, created to illustrate the PR campaign and enhance the premium appeal of this special edition.

Our approach

We built an art direction true to Brugal’s visual codes — deep blues, gold, amber — and rooted in the world of travel. Around the bottle, elements such as weathered wood, rope, and exploration accessories suggest the great journeys associated with the brand.
Precise, controlled lighting reveals the texture of the leather, the rum’s reflections, and the iconic silhouette of 1888. Tight framing makes the bottle the central character, while hinting at a broader story beyond the frame.

The result?

The final image showcases the limited-edition Brugal 1888 and its leather tag holder, capturing the brand’s colors, reflections, and premium world. The scene immediately evokes travel, Dominican heritage, and the art of tropical aging, while giving the PR agency a strong, elegant image for its year-end communications.
